Manifestation That Works 7:The Power of Language: How to Speak Words That Support Your Goal

The words you say every day are not only sounds.

They are instructions you give yourself.

The more often you repeat certain sentences, the easier it is for you to treat them as reality.

"I always mess things up."

"I do not have money."

"I am not suited for success."

"I am too lazy."

"This is just who I am."

These sentences sound like complaints, but they are also training an identity.

If you tell yourself every day, "This is just who I am," it becomes harder and harder to make different choices.

Language is not everything.

But language affects attention.

Attention affects choices.

Choices affect action.

Action affects results.

So if you want to change your manifestation results, you must begin changing the language you use.

How Language Affects Manifestation

Language affects you on at least three levels.

First, it defines identity.

"I procrastinate a lot" and "I am learning to complete small commitments on time" create completely different senses of identity.

Second, it guides attention.

"I have no opportunities" will cause you to keep looking for evidence that there are no opportunities.

"I can create one small opportunity today" will help you begin looking for an entry point.

Third, it determines the range of action.

"I cannot do it" usually ends action.

"I can try one small step first" opens action.

Changing language is not self-deception.

It is changing your inner dialogue from closed to actionable.

Three Types of Language to Stop Reinforcing

Type One: Absolute Language

For example:

I will never succeed.

I always fail.

No one supports me.

I never have good luck.

Absolute language makes you unable to see exceptions.

Please change it into a more accurate expression:

I have had difficulty in this area in the past, but I can learn a new way.

I feel a lack of support right now, so I will actively look for one support resource.

I have not seen opportunities recently, so I will expand my range of action.

Type Two: Identity-Closing Language

For example:

I am just lazy.

I am just bad with money.

I just do not know how to love.

I just have no discipline.

These sentences turn a temporary state into a permanent identity.

Please change them into growth language:

I am practicing more stable action.

I am learning financial management.

I am learning more mature communication.

I am building discipline instead of waiting to be naturally disciplined.

Type Three: Powerless Language

For example:

There is nothing I can do.

I have no choice.

It can only be this way.

We will see what happens.

Powerless language causes you to leave the creator position.

Please change it into choice language:

My choices are limited right now, but I can create one small choice first.

I cannot control everything, but I can control one action today.

I do not yet know the full path, but I can find the next step.

Identity Language Formula

This book recommends using identity-based affirmations instead of empty affirmations.

The formula is:

I am becoming a person who __________.

Each day, I support this identity by __________.

Today, I will complete __________.

Example:

I am becoming a person who manages money more clearly.

Each day, I support this identity by recording expenses and making one mature financial choice.

Today, I will check my account and record three expenses.

Example:

I am becoming a person who can express myself honestly.

Each day, I support this identity by speaking my real feelings and respecting my boundaries.

Today, I will write down one feeling I have not admitted.

Example:

I am becoming a person who completes creative work.

Each day, I support this identity by writing a little.

Today, I will write 300 words.

Chapter Practice: Language Rewriting Table

Old Language

Identity It Creates

New Language

Corresponding Action

I always procrastinate.

I am a procrastinator.

I am practicing completing small commitments.

Set a 10-minute timer.

I am bad with money.

I cannot manage resources.

I am learning to face money clearly.

Record today's spending.

I am not worthy of love.

I have no value.

I am learning to build relationships in a way that respects myself.

Write down my relationship standards.

I have no opportunities.

I am passive.

I can create one small opportunity today.

Send one outreach email.

Please write at least 10 of your own.

Morning and Evening Language Practice

Every morning, read your identity language once.

Then ask:

What can I do today to support this identity?

Every evening, read your identity language once.

Then ask:

What did I do today to prove that this identity is forming?

If you did not complete the action, do not attack yourself.

Simply write:

The reason I interrupted my practice today was __________.

Tomorrow I will make the action smaller by __________.

Common Mistake Reminders

Do not write sentences that are too exaggerated.

If you do not believe "Large amounts of money flow to me easily" at all, write "I am learning to create and manage more money."

Do not only read without acting.

Every identity statement must match one small action.

Do not use language to deny reality.

If you truly have debt, do not say "I have no money problems." You can say, "I am honestly facing my debt and building a repayment plan."

Do not expect to completely change your inner dialogue in one day.

You have practiced old language for many years. New language also needs repetition.
